Demarcus Cousins traded and now a New Orleans Pelican! And Anthony Davis thought that Kia Sorento was something for a record 52 points and winning MVP in tonight’s NBA All-Star Game! Well, maybe he didn’t. Nevertheless, that Kia Sorento pales in comparison to the gift he received just a short time ago. DeMarcus’Boogie’ Cousins is headed to Bourbon Street! In a blockbuster deal that had been rumored for the last day or so, the Sacramento Kings have traded Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans for rookie guard Buddy Hield and draft picks.

The Vertical.com editor – Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news with one of his infamous ‘WojBombs’ on Twitter….

Wojnarowski went on to tweet out more details of the deal….. The deal, reportedly includes two draft picks going from New Orleans to Sacramento. Two picks that will apparently be available to the Kings for this summer’s NBA Draft.

The NBA trade deadline is this Thursday, February 23rd. Although, this deal may have no impact on this season’s playoffs, it looks very safe to say there will be no trade that will have the sizzle that this one does. For all that we’ve heard over the last several weeks that Cousins wanted to remain a King, none of it came to fruition.

Was it the $200 million dollars the Kings would likely have had to pay Cousins? Or was it Cousins’ problems on the court, or a combination of both?

Whatever the reason, two picks and a few expiring contracts are nowhere near equal trade for Cousins. The Kings are setting themselves up for the future, but that future still looks very questionable.

Meanwhile, things are looking much brighter on Bourbon Street with Demarcus Cousins traded to New Orleans. They have Boogie teaming up with ‘The Unibrow’. That is one scary frontcourt. The likes we’ve never seen before in the NBA! Now, all the Pels need is someone to get these Kentucky Wildcats the Rock! How about a deal now for John Wall? Or how about a trade for Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns?

While, those deals will never happen, if the Pels can get that point guard to run the show, look out! What an unbelievable night in New Orleans. And just to think……we thought Anthony Davis’ All-Star game performance was the story of the night……
