Harden, D’Antoni, proving critics wrong with Rockets great start

When, news spread that Mike D’Antoni would be hired as the next head coach of the Houston Rockets at the end of last season, people around the NBA thought it was a foolish move. The Rockets are an organization that isn’t known for their defense, so why would they hire a coach who’s clear focus is on the offensive side of the ball? Although, D’Antoni has proven to be a very successful coach at times in the NBA, that sentiment was fair. But, there’s one thing that media members and…

The Houston Rockets may need to shave off ‘The Beard’

The Houston Rockets aren’t the best at taking punches. Good thing they’re not boxers. Because once that punch is landed, much like it was in the second half of Sunday’s playoff game by the Steph Curry-less Golden State Warriors, the Rockets usually fold up and take punch after punch after punch without even any thought of trying to punch back. They had their chance to ‘shut up’ critics like Charles Barkley but they’re now down 3-1 and they’re season will likely be over after Game 5 on Wednesday night in…

2016 NBA Playoffs: Western Conference Preview and Predictions

While, the Eastern Conference matchups look like they could be long and thrilling series, the Western Conference may be the exact opposite. The defending champion Golden State Warriors have only lost a record-breaking nine times this season and the 2nd-seeded San Antonio Spurs were dreadful in comparison with their 15 losses. So, can anyone derail the Warriors on their way to repeating and completing the most incredible season by an individual team in sports history? Absolutely. But could the Warriors also steamroll through the west and only lose a game…

J-Smoove5 (Josh Smith) being back in Houston could be a big deal (Video)

It’s been a pretty bad first half of the season for the Houston Rockets. Last season’s NBA Southwest Division champs and Western Conference runner-ups were sitting with a 22-22 record and a 7th place standing in the Western Conference. They’ve fired Kevin McHale, and while James Harden is in the top three of the league in scoring, he’s reverted back to the James Harden of two seasons ago when it seemed like he wasn’t trying to guard anybody. Chants of MVP are few and far between at Toyota Center and…

Dwight Howard helps Houston Rockets unveil three new alternate uniforms

Many fans of the Houston Rockets have wanted their favorite team to rock a black alternate uniform. Well, those fans will get their wish. At an exclusive event for season ticket holders today in Houston, Dwight Howard, Donatas Montiejunas, and rookie first round draft pick, Sam Dekker were used as the models to help the Houston Rockets unveil three new alternate uniforms. One of which is black. The black alternate worn by Dekker, is called the “Space City alternate, and is definitely the better looking of three. Although, I do…

Dwight Howard good to go for Game 5 vs Warriors as NBA upholds flagrant one against Andrew Bogut

Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets are very fortunate, as the NBA has upheld the Flagrant One call from last night where Howard struck Warriors  center Andrew Bogut in the face. We’ve seen cases that were very similar and less severe than Howard’s result in Flagrant Two’s which of course means ejection, and possible suspension for the next game. One such case happened Sunday night when Atlanta Hawks forward Al Horford received a Flagrant Two and an ejection for striking Cavaliers  guard, Matthew Dellavedova. The incident sparked heavy conversation about…
