Clemson vs Bama: Sark in, Kiffin out best thing for Saban, Bama

In the words of R&B legend Keith Sweat, ‘Something, something just ain’t right’. That was the phrase uttered most by Bama fans on Saturday, despite the 24-7 win over Washington in the Peach Bowl. Something was not right with Bama’s offense. That is taking nothing away from the Washington Huskies defense. They played spectacular. But, something just wasn’t right. And, you’re crazy if you think Nick Saban wasn’t going to get to the root of it. The root of the problem in this case seemed to be Lane Kiffin.…

Sugar Bowl Preview: Saban/Meyer rivalry renewed with Ohio State/Bama matchup….

Urban Meyer and Nick Saban are no strangers to each other. Who will ever forget the epic 2008 SEC Title Game between Saban’s underdog, but top-ranked Crimson Tide and Meyer’s second-ranked Gators? The score ended up 31-20. But, the sheer amount of talent on the field led by Florida’s Tim Tebow, who won the Heisman Trophy the previous year, and Bama’s Julio Jones was incredible. The game was also closer than the score indicated. The Tide held a 20-17 lead going into the 4th quarter, before Tebow played maybe the best quarter…

Periods of mediocrity from both schools,…

College Football: Sleepy in Seattle as ESPN Gameday and Lane Kiffin come to town…..

The ESPN Gameday roadshow makes its way to Seattle Washington, as the Washington Huskies host the Oregon Ducks in what should be a very entertaining and intriguing game. The Ducks are of course pretty big favorites, but this is their biggest test to date. The game is the marquee matchup of the weekend, and with this game being in the pacific time zone, its going to be a lot of sleepy and probably still inebriated fans to welcome Fowler, Corso, Herbstreit, Howard, Pollack and Ponder to the Great Northwest. There’s…

College Football: Week 6 Power Rankings – The Rise of the PAC-12….without USC

Coming into the season we knew the PAC-12 would be a major player in the landscape of the BCS Title race. We knew about Stanford, even though the Cardinal lost quite a bit from last season’s outstanding team. We also knew about Oregon, even though they lost their coach, Chip Kelly. Two teams that were on the radar, but weren’t perceived to cause too many problems were the UCLA Bruins, and Washington Huskies. The Huskies were looked at as a nice team. A team with a good QB, that’s led…
